Individuals with mental illness focus of MJI webinar

The Michigan Judicial Institute will host “Improving Court Responses for Court-Involved Individuals with Mental Illness Webinar” on Wednesday, November 13, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

State courts have increasingly become the default system for addressing the needs of people with mental illness. Because the judiciary is on the front lines, it is critical for judges to learn about mental illness and have access to effective court tools and resources to manage the day-to-day operation of the court. Judges are also in a unique position to lead and implement new strategies to collaborate with community partners to reduce recidivism and improve outcomes for people with serious mental illness, and we will discuss these strategies.

This program is eligible for continuing judicial education credit—CJE Credit: 1.00 (Judicial Practice & Related Areas).
