IRS commissioner to address ABA Criminal Tax Fraud meeting in Las Vegas

Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Daniel Werfel will speak at the American Bar Association 2024 Criminal Tax Fraud and Tax Controversy conference, which will be held Dec. 12-14 at the Wynn Las Vegas.

Werfel serves as the 50th commissioner of the IRS and presides over the nation’s tax system, which collects approximately $4.1 trillion in tax revenue each year representing about 96% of the total gross receipts of the United States. 

He oversees an agency of about 85,000 employees and an annual budget of more than $12 billion. 

Werfel will be the keynote luncheon speaker on Friday, Dec. 13, at 12:30 p.m. PST.

The gathering of the criminal tax controversy and defense bar brings together high-level government officials, judges, corporate counsel and private practitioners engaged in all aspects of tax controversy, tax litigation and criminal tax prosecutions and defense.
