Two additional Athletic teams will take the floor at the Climax-Scotts gymnasium this week.
The Senior High School Girls Power Volleyball teams will begin its first season as a varsity sport meeting Mendon Jan. 13, at 6 P. M.
There will be two, 3-game matches between the Junior Varsity teams and the varsity teams.
Power Volleyball is a sport that is growing in popularity and is the latest addition to the competitive sports program being offered for girls at C-S. It differs from volleyball as most people know it, in several ways. First, the ball is usually traveling much faster and most players use an overhand serve to get more speed Secondly, rules are more defined and players have specific designations as in other sport. There are 6 players on a team consisting of a Right and Left Forward, a Right and Left Back and a Center Forward and a Center Back. Players rotate position each time they win possession.
To win a match, a team must win 2 out of 3 games. A game consists of 15 points or 8 minutes and ahead by 2 points.
Climax Scotts has at present, 36 girls out for Power Volleyball.
In addition, the Jr. High School boys will take the floor against Mendon Jan. 14 at 6 P. M. in basketball. Both teams have a full schedule and look forward to rewarding seasons.
