MSHDA releases annual report
In fiscal year 2024, MSHDA invested $2.15 billion in affordable housing in Michigan, supporting the construction, rehabilitation, and purchase of 12,421 homes. The report offers an at-a-glance summary of the agency’s most significant programs measured by dollars and doors, and the demographics of the households served.
“Last year we surpassed our ambitious goals by listening, removing barriers and making it easier to access MSHDA programs,” said Amy Hovey, MSHDA CEO and executive director. “We moved quickly to find solutions and will continue to creatively leverage new resources, ensuring we effectively support housing opportunities in all parts of the state.”
Last year, MSHDA programs financed and supported historic levels of affordable housing development in Michigan, creating an estimated 4,135 construction jobs paying over $157 million in wages.
The report also outlines investments of one-time federal funding in the Missing Middle Housing program, streamlining nine different programs and funding sources into MI Neighborhood, the MSHDA Rate Relief Mortgage, and more.
