Events scheduled for Memorial Day in Climax

There are some new and many traditional events planned for Memorial Day in the Village of Climax May 26.

A reminder that activities after the parade return to behind Climax-Scotts Jr./Sr. High School and at the C-S Intermediate School, 372 South Main Street.

The Climax Crescent will have more coverage in the May 23 issue, however the schedule of events and times, released by event coordinator Julie Tiller, is below.

6 a.m.: Craft and Vendors set up - C-S Intermediate School

7 a.m.: Run To Climax runners pickup packets - Climax United Methodist Church - 133 E. Maple St.

7:30-9 a.m.: Pancake Breakfast, Climax United Methodist Church - 133 E. Maple St.

8 a.m.: Run To Climax - 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk and Fun To Climax 7K Run/Walk - Climax United Methodist Church - 133 E. Maple
  • Bake Sale & Plant Giveaway - Climax United Methodist Church
  • Sunset Sunset Cruisers Battle Creek, MI - Registration begins.
  • Food Trucks Open - Hot Rod Grill, Woodin’s Concessions, Sweet Eliza’s Donuts, Patriot Pizza & Pretzel Food Truck, King Kettle - C-S Intermediate School.

8:30 a.m.: Parade lineup begins. C-S High School and C-S American Legion Post #465.

9 a.m.: Sunset Cruisers Car Show - C-S Intermediate School

9 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Craft & Vendor Show
  • Face Painting with Gina, Balloon Twister, Artbrain Caricature Drawings, Sunset Cruisers - National Anthem and Prayer - C-S Intermediate School

10 a.m.: Climax-Scotts American Legion Post #465 Memorial Day Parade.
Wreath Laying Ceremony in Climax Village Park following parade.

11 a.m.: Hot dogs, chips & Drinks - Public welcome. C-S American Legion Post #465, 6101 S. 44th St., Climax.

11 a.m.: Sunset Cruisers Car Show, Scooters Malt Shoppe,  Kids Games-$5/10 tickets available - Each game is 1 ticket to play, Sunset Cruisers - Car Judging. Food Trucks. C-S Intermediate School, 373 S. Main St., Climax.

11:30 a.m.: Old Time Base Ball -Continental Base Ball Team Vs. C-S Panthers of all ages, men, women, boys and girls welcome to play. C-S Intermediate School

11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Open Arms Mobile Petting Zoo - C-S Intermediate School 911 Garden.  

Noon: Northern Lights Drum & Bugle Corps Performance - C-S Football Field
  • Cakewalk, C-S Intermediate School

12:30 p.m.: C-S High School Jazz Band Performance - C-S Football Field.

1 p.m.: Taps - Prairie Home Cemetery

1:45 p.m.: Sunset Cruisers Silent Auction and 50/50 - C-S Intermediate School.

2 p.m.: Sunset Cruisers Awards Presentation - C-S Intermediate School.
