Former CMU football star to speak at G-A High School

Former Central Michigan University football star and father to current Detroit Lion’s rookie Antony Tyus III, T.J. Tyus, will be presenting his “Mental Performance” blueprint at the Galesburg-Augusta High School gym Wednesday, May 28, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

T.J. is an International Speaker, performance coach, pastor, and published author. He has worked with high school student-athletes and college student-athletes around the world.

Galesburg-Augusta Athletic Director Mike Woodard said you can check out T.J. and his message at tjtyus.com You will also see some testimonials from some of the biggest names in college sports like Coach PJ Fleck (University of Minnesota) and Dabo Sweeney (Clemson University).

Woodard said this opportunity is being made possible by a generous donation from a G-A community member, so there will be no cost to attend.

“I can not express enough how great of an opportunity that is being provided for our student-athletes and parents, especially at no cost. I have seen many of our student-athletes improve their skills through weight lifting, speed/agility, and playing more outside the regular season. However, the mental aspect of athletics is still an area where we need to improve. Please join us for a great night as we take another step to ensure our student-athletes have the tools to be successful in sports, the classroom, and life,” said Woodard in his letter to G-A student athletes and parents.
