Parade takes place June 21, other activities planned

Area-wide garage sales, games, an ice cream social, movies, and of course a parade will all be a part of Greater Galesburg Days June 20 and 21.

The activities begin Friday, June 20, with a garage sale at the Congregational Church from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The garage sale will continue Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Later on Friday there will be a Movie in the Park behind the City Hall at 9 p.m. The featured movie will be “Bolt.”

On Saturday, June 21 the Greater Galesburg Days parade will take place at 11 a.m.

The parade begins at the G-A Primary School and moves through down town. Anyone can be in the parade.

Grand marshals this year are John Enders and Ray Elsey.

Other activities planned for Saturday, June 21, include a corn hole tournament at the Venue, an ice cream social at the Galesburg-Charleston Township Fire Station at noon, hot dogs/brats 
sales in the City Park behind City Hall, Bouncy House, obstacle course, foam party and dunk tank behind City Hall, and a firefighter challenge for adults and children.

The movie, “Daddy Day Care” will be showing at OHS at 9 p.m. at 170 East Battle Creek Street.

There will also be area-wide garage sales June 19-22.
