Webinar examines
‘Elements of Crimes in Child Abuse Cases’


The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan’s Child Abuse Prosecution Resources unit (CAPR) will present a webinar on “Building a Case for Court: Understanding the Elements of Crimes in Child Abuse Cases” Thursday, July 10, beginning at 9 a.m. via Zoom.

CAPR Director Pamela Maas will discuss what prosecutors need to prove to be able to establish cases and will provide investigators with the information that can focus their investigations.

Drug Treatment Court
matters discussed online


The Michigan Judicial Institute will present “All Rise Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Best Practices: An Overview and Pathway to Better Outcomes Webinar” hosted by Problem-Solving Courts (PSC) on Thursday, July 17, noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

This session explores the history and research on juvenile drug treatment courts (JDTCs), the conceptual framework of the best practice recommendations, and provides practical tips for implementation of these recommendations.  Presenting at the webinar will be Dr. Bridgett Ortega, All Rise.

After this session, attendees will be able to: 

• Discuss the seven Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Objectives and corresponding best practices, and how each is reflected in current or pending practice.

• Develop a working knowledge of the best practices, the importance of following the best practices, and tips for implementation.
