Last year, Lawlapalooza raised more than $20,000 for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation. This year’s beneficiary is Kids Without Cancer.
Each year, roughly 12,000 U.S. children receive a cancer diagnosis and almost a quarter don’t survive. Tickets will fund pediatric cancer research being conducted at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and its affiliates, Wayne State University and the Karmanos Cancer Institute.
Zausmer’s Cam Getto will open this year’s Lawlapalooza with an acoustic set, followed by Sean Zayas’ band, The Common Scolds. Then, David Dyki (a.k.a. D-Rock), from Progressive, will perform a short set.
Ian Coote’s band, the 3148s, will close out the show. The night will be hosted by Fox 2 meteorologist Derek Kevra.
Tickets are $20 in advance and $30 at the door. To purchase tickets in advance, visit www.lawlapalooza.org.
