License renewal now open for 2025-26


Michigan attorneys can now renew their State Bar of Michigan law license for the 2025-2026 bar year. 

All attorneys are required to annually renew their license and complete mandatory regulation disclosures. 

Licenses can be renewed in the online Member Area at michbar.org/MemberArea

Attorneys should ensure their contact information is up to date. (In the online Member Area, click “Manage” to check and/or edit your contact information.)

Rule 2 of the Rules Concerning the State Bar of Michigan requires all attorneys to keep a valid email address on file with the State Bar of Michigan. Reminder emails typically are sent to attorneys in October and November until their license renewal is complete. 

The new license year begins on October 1 and ends September 30, 2026.

Bar association to celebrate
Hispanic Heritage Month


To mark Hispanic Heritage Month, the Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan (HBAM) will host “Celebrating Latinidad and the Rule of Law” on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at  La Noria Bistro in Detroit.

HBAM will be honoring Latinx leaders who are making a impact in advancing the rule of law and justice in our communities. They include:

Seminar explores issue of
cybercrime in juvenile justice


The Michigan Judicial Institute and Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice Services will present a webinar on “What Juvenile Division Jurists and Justice Professionals Need to Know About Cybercrime, Part 2: Digital Evidence and Legal Processing” Friday, September 26, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

This webinar series explores the issue of cybercrime in juvenile justice with presenters discussing criminal activity using computers and digital systems, how to identify cybercrime and managing digital evidence.
