MAJ schedules annual golf outing


The Michigan Association for Justice is hosting its 18th Annual Golf Outing on Monday, Oct. 6, at Western Golf & Country Club, 14600 Kinloch in Redford.

The outing begins with registration at 9 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 10 a.m.  

Lunch will be provided at the turn and appetizers, drinks, and prizes will immediately follow.  

The outing is hosted/sponsored by MAJ Past President Brian McKeen and Terry Cochran.

Cost for the outing is $250 for individuals, $1,000 for a foursome, and judges can golf for free.

‘Legal Education Summit’ co-hosted
by SBM section, ABOTA


The Negligence Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, in conjunction with Michigan chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, will present “Legal Education Summit: Artificial Intelligence, Trial Practice, Lawyer Wellness.”

The program will take place Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the MSU Management Education Center in Troy.

Law school hosts discussion
on wrongful convictions


The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Conviction Integrity Clinic will present a discussion on “Unraveling Injustice: Insights from the Courtroom & the Wrongfully Convicted” Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Detroit Mercy Law, 651 East Jefferson in Detroit.

To recognize Wrongful Conviction Day, an exoneree and the stakeholders who pursued and secured his release will provide a candid conversation.  Speaking at the event will be:
