Sterling Heights man bound over to circuit court on bank robbery charge

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido has announced that Armand Saroli, a 52-year-old Sterling Heights man charged with bank robbery, was bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court after his preliminary exam.

Last Thursday, a preliminary exam was conducted in 41A District Court in Sterling Heights before Judge Annemarie Lepore. After the hearing, Lepore bound Saroli over to the Macomb County Circuit Court on a charge of bank robbery, a felony with a penalty of life or any term of years imprisonment.

He also has a Habitual Offender - Fourth Offense Notice, which is an aggravating sentencing factor.

Saroli will be arraigned at the Macomb County Circuit Court before Judge Joseph Toia on Thursday, Oct. 16. He is held at the Macomb County Jail with a $750,000 cash/surety bond.
It is alleged that July 23, 2025, at approximately 1:30 pm, Saroli entered a bank located in Sterling Heights and approached a teller. He presented a note to the teller demanding money.

The teller gave Saroli the money demanded, and then he fled the bank.

Saroli was later captured by the police.
