MAC is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that advances education, communication and cooperation among the leaders of Michigan’s 83 counties.
It serves as the counties’ voice at the state and federal level, providing legislative support on key issues affecting counties.
“I am deeply honored to serve as president of the MAC board,” said Wallace. “This is a pivotal time for counties across Michigan as we confront both new challenges and exciting opportunities.”
This week’s conference includes plenary sessions covering topics such as the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in building local economies and the challenges to mental health services. Michigan’s 83 counties are responsible for more than $3.6 billion in public revenue and employ more than 40,000 full-time workers.
Wallace represents District 8, which includes Mount Clemens and most of Clinton Township. A county commissioner since 2020, Wallace is currently Vice Chair of the Finance/Audit/Budget Committee and serves on the Community Mental Health Board.
