Halloween events are scheduled for the Climax, Galesburg and Scotts areas, beginning Friday, October 24.
The first annual Trunk or Treat event, featuring the Sunset Cruisers Car Club, will be held at Arlene’s Truck Stop, north of Climax, on Friday, October 24 from 4-8 p.m.
There will be face painting and activities for the kids besides trunk or treat opportunities.
The annual Galesburg Trick or Treat event, sponsored by the Galesburg Augusta Business and Community Association will be held Saturday, October 25 from 1-3 p.m.
Trick or treaters will meet behind the Galesburg United Methodist Church and will be taken in groups to local businesses participating in the trick or treat event in the City.
The last group of trick or treaters departs at 2:30 p.m. Must be with a guided group to trick or treat.
When the groups return to the Galesburg United Methodist Church they will be served free hot dogs. There will also be games for the kids to enjoy.
Be sure to remember the Galesburg Winter Wonderland December 3.
Prairie Baptist Church, located at 11210 East PQ Ave. Scotts, will also be hosting a Trunk or Treat event from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, October 25. This event is free with lots of candy and games.
On Halloween October 31, the Climax Township Fire Department will be offering hot dogs, snacks and candy at the fire station beginning at 5 p.m.
Down the road, the Climax and Scotts United Methodist churches will be hosting an Unhaunted Hall event at the Climax United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. where visitors will have the opportunity to get candy.
The church is currently accepting candy donations for this event. Call the church at 746-4023.
Lawrence Memorial District Library, 107 North Main Street, will also be hosting a Halloween event. Library board members will hand out treats to the children from 4-8 p.m.
In Scotts, Country Christian Evangelical Free Church will be hosting a Hallelujah Halloween party October 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Scotts Community Center.
There will be games, candy, pop, popcorn, snacks and door prizes and more. Everyone is welcome to attend in costume or not.
