It is alleged that in the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 14, Martin parked his vehicle on a side street near the Jawad’s home. Martin walked through a neighbor’s backyard, scaled a wall, entered Jawad’s property and concealed himself underneath a vehicle parked in Jawad’s driveway.
Authorities say Jawad drove out of his garage and Martin came out from his hiding place, firing multiple gunshots as Jawad drove past him, striking him in the leg. Martin fled on foot, retracing his route back to his vehicle before driving away at a high rate of speed.
Martin was arraigned Wednesday on the following charges:
• Assault with Intent To Murder, a life or any term of years felony
• Weapons Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony, consecutive to main charge
• Weapons - Firearms - Possession By Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony
• Weapons Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony, consecutive to main charge
• Weapons - Dangerous Weapon - Carrying With Unlawful Intent, a 5-year felony
• Weapons Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony, consecutive to main charge
Martin also has a Habitual Offender - Fourth Offense Notice, subjecting him to life in prison if convicted of any of the primary felonies.
Martin remains in custody at the Macomb County Jail to await a probable cause conference on Nov. 3.
