42nd District Courts go live with MiFILE

The 42nd District Courts are scheduled to go live with MiFILE on Nov. 6., according to court officials.

MiFILE is a statewide e-filing initiative sponsored by the Michigan Supreme Court and the State Court Administrative Office.

All attorneys will be required to e-file civil filings in the 42nd District Courts as required by Michigan Court Rule 1.109(G)(3)(f) starting Nov. 6.

Self-represented parties may also participate in the e-filing program but are not required to do so.

An MiFILE account is needed to submit documents. Creating an account is free; information on that process can be obtained by visiting Michigan’s One Court of Justice website Filer Information page.

The 42nd District Court is divided into two divisions: Division 1 in Romeo and Division 2 in New Baltimore. The Romeo court serves Armada, Bruce, Memphis, Richmond, Romeo, Washington, and parts of Ray Township, while the New Baltimore court serves Chesterfield, Lenox, New Baltimore, and New Haven.
