State enforcers to discuss evolving antitrust laws at ABA 2025 Antitrust Fall Forum

State attorneys general, judges and academic leaders will explore how states are empowering state enforcers through evolving antitrust laws and where they think the states are headed next during the American Bar Association 2025 Antitrust Fall Forum.

The Nov. 6 forum, sponsored by the ABA Antitrust Law Section, will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

The one-day meeting features Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who at 9:15 am will discuss federal legislation that supports state attorneys’ general actions, and Judge Amit P. Mehta from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, who will be interviewed by Renata B. Hesse from Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti will participate on the panel “What Do the Attorneys General Think?”

Judge Richard F. Boulware from the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada will deliver keynote remarks at 5 p.m.

Panels will discuss how states have responded to new challenges, new cases and the passage of new legislation and how they are making their mark and having an impact across the U.S.

Thursday’s agenda includes:

• 10:45-11:45 a.m.,  “State AGs: Who’s Holding the Line?”

• 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m., “Antitrust at the Cutting Edge”

• 12:45-1:45 p.m., Networking Lunch

• 1:45-2:45 p.m., “All These Notice Requirements. What’s a Party to Do?”

• 2:45-3:45 p.m., “What Do the Attorneys General Think?”
