After discussing the recent bond proposal that was defeated Nov. 4, the Galesburg-Augusta Board of Education decided at the Nov. 17 board of education meeting to bring the same proposal back to the voters in May, 2026.
An $11.2 million bond proposal that would have addressed needs at the G-A Primary, Middle School, High School and Transportation Facility, was defeated 836-731 (53.35%-46.65%).
G-A Superintendent Dr. Lindsey Newton said the May, 2026 bond proposal will address the same needs, will be for the same amount ($11.2 million) and same length, up to 17 years.
