The People Helping People quarter auction November 16 raised $2,447 for the Climax-Scotts volleyball program.
C-S varsity volleyball coach Angela Gilbert said last year’s fundraiser went to help purchase junior high volleyball jerseys.
She said this year’s money will be used to replace multiple volleyballs and nets for the auxiliary gym. The C-S coach adds funds also help offset the cost of high school team camp and warmups.
“We greatly appreciate those that came and helped support the volleyball team. From Julie (Tiller), who puts it on, to all the vendors and the community and family members that show up and let the girls know that they are worth it,” said Gilbert.
From September, 2024 to after the November 16 event, the People Helping People group has raised $31,820 at C-S for C-S athletic programs, C-S Grad Bash, and C-S Students Against Destructive Decisions.
The next People Helping People event will be held Sunday, November 30, at C-S High School, 372 South Main Street for the Baird and Phillips families who lost their home in a fire. Doors open at noon, bidding starts at 1 p.m.
People Helping People will hold a similar quarter auction December 14 at the C-S Jr./Sr. High School cafeteria to benefit the C-S girls basketball program. Doors open at noon, auction starts at 1 p.m.
