On Monday, a hearing was held on a defense Motion to Quash and Dismiss at the Macomb County Circuit Court before Judge Anthony Servitto.
After arguments, Servitto denied the motion and set the case for trial on June 9.
It is alleged that on Saturday, May 3,in the parking lot of Footlocker in Eastpointe, Dejuan Taylor got into a physical altercation with another man, who was holding a registered handgun and has a valid CPL.
Lakylia Taylor ran back to her car to get a handgun. When she returned, the CPL holder and two friends were near Dejuan.
Authorities say Lakylia shot all three of the men, killing two of them. Dejuan Taylor then got up and allegedly took a magazine from the ground, and then fled the scene with his sister.
Dejuan Taylor is charged with the following:
Tampering With Evidence, a felony punishable up to 10 years.
Larceny less than $200, a misdemeanor punishable up to 93 days.
Lakylia Taylor is charged with the following:
Homicide -Second Degree, a felony punishable for life or any number of years.
Assault with Intent to Murder, a felony punishable for life or any number of years.
Tampering With Evidence, a felony punishable up to 10 years.
Carrying Concealed Weapon, a felony punishable up to five years.
Felony Firearm, a felony with a two-year mandatory prison sentence served consecutively.
Felony Firearm, a felony with a two-year mandatory prison sentence served consecutively.
