Study Relating To Historic Multiple Vehicle Crash Near Galesburg Last Winter Will Bring Safety Recommendations
On the morning of January 9, 2015 at approximately 9:20 A.M., first responders were dispatched to address a historic 193-vehicle pileup that occurred Jan. 9 near mile marker 90 along I-94 in Kalamazoo County near Galesburg.
Initial units arriving on the scene reported multiple strings of crashes located in all travel lanes as well as the center median and shoulders in both the eastbound and westbound directions. Further, fire was evident in the pile of vehicles located in the eastbound travel direction.
Dr. Tim Gates of Michigan State University worked with officials from the Michigan Department of Transportation and Michigan State Police to compile the audit that was presented to lawmakers Monday, Nov. 30.
State officials ordered the audit last February after Sen. Margaret O’Brien petitioned Gov. Rick Snyder’s administration to complete a study on the eastbound section of the highway near Galesburg, where the crash occurred, and offer recommendations on possible changes to the roadway.

C-S Senior Earns AP Division 7 & 8 All-State First Team Honors
Climax-Scotts High School senior Adam Audette is a team oriented football player first.
But the C-S center understood to achieve some team goals he and his teammates established before the season started, he would have to improve his own game.
Audette worked hard during the off-season and season, helping the Panther football team to a district championship and a 11-1 record.
The Panther starting center and his offensive line teammates helped open up holes for C-S backs that enjoyed 4,199 yards on the ground this year.
A lot started at the center position Audette played so effectively this season.
Audette was rewarded for his hard work last week by being named to the Associated Press Division 7 & 8 All-State first team as an offensive lineman.
