SBM issues alert about phishing scam
The State Bar of Michigan is warning all members and legal professionals of a phishing scam involving fraudulent emails that appear to come from SBM Executive Director Peter Cunningham.
The email uses a deceptive email address ending with michbar.org.sendcrp.com, which is not affiliated with SBM.
The email claims to be regarding “a matter that surfaced earlier this week involving a small number of firms,” includes the recipient’s firm, and it requests the recipient confirm their contact information, including name and phone number.
The email is not legitimate, according to the State Bar.
Recipients are advised that they should not respond to the message, click any links, or provide any personal information.

PSC certification focus of webinar
The Michigan Judicial Institute will present a webinar on “Problem-Solving Courts Certification Process” hosted by Problem-Solving Court (PSC) Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to noon via Zoom.
This training will provide a comprehensive overview of the PSC certification process, what is required to achieve certification, and the certification site visit process.
This training is intended for coordinators and other leaders of adult problem-solving courts, especially those who have a certification site visit in 2025.

After registering, participants will receive a separate e-mail with the Zoom credentials.
