Juvenile waives preliminary exam related to alleged carjacking in Roseville

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Jeremiah Collins, a 15-year-old Roseville juvenile, waived his preliminary exam and was bound over on multiple charges stemming from an alleged carjacking that occurred in the parking lot of an Applebee’s restaurant in Roseville last month,

Collins faces arraignment in circuit court next month on the the following charges:

Carjacking, a life or any term of years felony

Police Officer – Fleeing – Third-Degree, a 5-year felony

Two Counts – Malicious Destruction of Personal Property - $1,000 but less than $20,000, each a 5-year felony

Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, a 4-year felony

Police Officer – Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing, a 2-year felony

Operating – No License, a 90-day misdemeanor

Failure to Stop After Collision, a 90-day misdemeanor

Collins is in custody at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center under a $250,000 cash/surety bond with standard conditions. If Collins posts bond, he must be fitted with a GPS tether, be restricted to his mother’s home, not be arrested, and have no contact with the complaining victims, witnesses, or Applebee’s.

It is alleged that on November 24, 2025, Collins forcibly took a woman’s 2016 Jeep Patriot in the Applebee’s parking lot.

The victim immediately contacted the Roseville Police Department, prompting officers to pursue the stolen vehicle. Collins allegedly continued fleeing until he crashed the Jeep on Gratiot.
