Looking at how to improve public safety for Michigan youth
The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan’s Juvenile Justice &?School Safety Training Project will present the webinar “Improving Public Safety and Outcomes for Youth in Michigan” on Wednesday, Jan. 7, from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom.
This presentation will include information on how the mandatory screenings tools and assessments should be employed.

Deadline nears for TextBehind program
Beginning Jan. 5, the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) will require all mail sent to inmates by attorneys to include a QR code provided by TextBehind, a verification system that confirms legal mail is sent from legitimate and verified sources and reduces the risk of contraband entering facilities.
To ensure there is no interruption in mail delivery, attorneys should register and complete verification with TextBehind as soon as possible. Once registered, attorneys can begin using the system immediately.
To obtain a TextBehind QR code, attorneys should register for an account at https://docs.textbehind.com.
MDOC initially rolled out the TextBehind program in 2025 but delayed it as a mandatory requirement until 2026 to make adjustments.
