It is alleged that on Dec. 14, Paige fired multiple shots from a handgun at his cousin and her boyfriend, striking his cousin in the shoulder.
Officers allegedly made contact with Paige while he was inside a vehicle.
Paige reportedly ignored lawful commands and drove off the roadway in an attempt to flee. Eastpointe and St. Clair Shores police pursued the vehicle eastbound on I-94 at speeds exceeding 120 miles per hour. The pursuit ended when Paige’s vehicle was located crashed on North River Road.
Officers from the Eastpointe Police Department, St. Clair Shores Police Department, Warren Police Department, and the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search of the area. Paige was subsequently located hiding in the water of a canal beneath a dock and taken into custody.
Paige was arraigned Dec. 16 before Magistrate Mark J. Makowski at the 38th District Court in Eastpointe.
Paige is charged with the following:
• Two Counts - Assault with Intent to Murder, a life or any term of years felony
• Weapons - Firearms - Possession by a Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony
• Weapons -Ammunition - Possession by a Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon, a 5-year felony
• Three Counts - Weapons - Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony consecutive to main charge
• Police Officer – Fleeing – Third-Degree – Vehicle Code, a 5-year felony
• Police Officer – Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing, a 2-year felony
Paige has a Habitual Offender – Fourth Offense Notice. This is an aggravating sentencing factor which may result in a sentence of life in prison.
Makowski set Paige’s bond at $1,000,000 cash/surety.
A Probable Cause Conference is set for Dec. 30.
