Warren man waives preliminary exam related to multiple counts of possessing child sexually abusive material

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido has announced that 62-year-old Michael Cristini of Warren has waived his right to a preliminary exam and has been bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court on multiple charges of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive materials and other serious offenses.

Cristini is scheduled to be arraigned before Judge Matthew Sabaugh in the Macomb County Circuit Court on March 9.

Cristini is charged with the following offenses:

Three counts of Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material, each a 10-year felony

Three counts of Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material, each a 4-year felony

Three counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime (related to Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material), each a 10-year felony

Three counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime (related to Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material), each a 7-year felony

Habitual Offender – 2nd Offense Notice, an aggravating sentencing factor

These are the maximum charges available under the law based upon the evidence presented to date.

“The allegations in this matter involve conduct that the justice system treats with the utmost seriousness because of the harm it causes to children and communities,” Lucido said.
