There is such powerful love and positivity when I show love and affirmation to other people. Yet it can be very easy to forget this and making negative statements when negative statements are not necessary or helpful. I can correct someone when it is not necessary. The other day I made a corrective remark about someone’s viewpoint about the weather and it was not necessary to do that. Thank God, I realized it and was able to apologize but I really regret the times I have done this in my life and not apologized. The world changes and people change through kindness and love, not through negativity and criticism.
I will make positive changes when I am kind and loving toward others. I will not make changes when I am critical or angry toward another person. No one has to change for me to find happiness except me. If I change into a loving and kind person, I help everyone around me and I will especially help anyone who is close to me. This is a very simple statement. But when I practice it, my corner of the world will become kinder and loving.
Love and kindness toward others is simple and easy. Criticism and condemnation of others imprison us in our own misery and difficulties. These simple statements seem more accurate in my life than ever before. Maybe it is old age. Or maybe I am becoming open to the simple wisdom of life and the simple wisdom of spirituality.
There is joy in being kind. There is no joy in negativity. There is peace in being positive toward others. There is misery in condemnations of others. The choice to be kind and loving to everyone becomes such a wonderful and uplifting way to live. I am going to stay with this choice.
