Track program purchase

The People Helping People Group, spearheaded by Climax resident Julie Tiller, raised $3,100 from a quarter auction event held recently for the Climax-Scotts Track program. The money was used to go towards the purchase of a 10’ x 20’ canopy, complete with sides, personalization and weights for the C-S track teams. A cart to carry track equipment, a duffel bag to store a portion of the canopy and two benches for athletes to sit on at events was also purchased with the fundraising money. Tiller said there was enough money left over to help pay for extra uniforms.

New softball field

The Climax-Scotts girls varsity softball team is scheduled to begin play on its new softball field April 7 in a doubleheader at 4:15 against Howardsville Christian.  The C-S School District said approximately $1,000,000 for athletic related improvements including a new softball field and renovating the Robert L. Weessies Jr. Field, was part of a $16.2 million bond project approved by C-S School District voters for district-wide improvements.
