Lady Panthers off to 6-0 start


Alyse Langs slammed the door on a late Colon rally with a strong pitching effort and came through with three hits at the plate, helping the Lady Panthers to a 5-4 win over the Magi April 14 at Colon.

The win gives C-S a 6-0 start.

Colon had the tying runner on third base and winning runner on second base when Langs struck the Magi batter out swinging for the third out.

C-S took a 3-0 lead into the top of the fourth inning but Colon answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. 

The Lady Panthers tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth for a 5-2 lead before Colon pushed a run across in the bottom of the inning, setting up the thrilling seventh inning.
Langs pounded out three hits, and Addi Dzwik, who drove in one run, had two hits.

Langs pitched all seven innings for the win. She gave up six hits, one earned run, two walks and struck out seven.

C-S and Loy Norrix were scheduled to play a doubleheader at C-S April 17 but there was a scheduling issue and the two schools did not play.

The Lady Panthers were also scheduled to host Bellevue April 16 but the game was postponed because of rain. The two schools will play a doubleheader at Bellevue May 7 beginning at 4 p.m.

C-S baseball team moves to 3-1


The Climax-Scotts baseball team managed only three hits but took advantage of 12 walks and three Colon errors that led to eight unearned runs in a 14-2 win over the Magi April 14 at Colon.

C-S, which improved to 3-1, also had nine stolen bases.

Nyle Sattler had a double and one RBI, Lincoln Dzwik had a double and three stolen bases and Jackson Dzwik had a double and two RBI to lead C-S at the plate.

Carter Dzwik, who pitched the first three and one-third innings, earned the win. He allowed one hit, three walks and struck out seven Magi batters.

C-S was scheduled to host Loy Norrix in a doubleheader April 17 but the two teams did not play do to a scheduling mishap. 

C-S and Bellevue were scheduled to play  April 16 but that game was postponed because of rain. The two schools will play a doubleheader at Bellevue May 7 beginning at 4 p.m.

C-S golf team finishes 5th


The Climax-Scotts golf team finished fifth out of nine schools at its first SCAA Jamboree hosted by Jackson Christian April 20.

C-S finished with a 201. Jackson Christian finished first with a 161.

C-S senior Ryan Pejakovich had the low score for C-S with a 42.

Cooper Dinse finished with a 50, Gixxer Blair had a 51 and Hunter LaSala rounded out C-S’ top four scorers with a 58.



C-S Defeats Comstock


The Climax-Scotts golf team improved to 3-2 with a 153-179 win over Comstock April 14 at Riverside Golf Club in Battle Creek.

The top three scorers were counted towards the team total.

Senior Ryan Pejakovich’s 45 was low score for C-S.

Cooper Dinse and Easton VanMiddlesworth each shot a 54.

Gixxer Blair finished with a 70.
