On January 20, authorities say, Whittaker engaged in an altercation with a co-worker after he was told he was fired from his employment at a business in Warren.
The altercation extended into the parking lot where another employee attempted to intervene to break up the fight. Whittaker shot the second co-worker.
Whittaker’s preliminary exam was held Wednesday before Judge Suzanne Faunce in the 37th District Court in Warren.
At the conclusion of the exam, Faunce bound Whittaker over on all charges. He is charged with Assault with Intent to Murder, a life or any term of years felony and Felony Firearm, a two-year felony consecutive to main charge.
Whittaker will be arraigned before Judge Rachel Rancilio at the Macomb County Circuit Court on May 4.
