Roseville man bound over to circuit court in fatal crash

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido has announced that 26-year-old Travis Turner of Roseville has been bound over for trial on charges in connection with a fatal vehicle crash that occurred on Groesbeck Highway in Roseville.

At the conclusion this month of Turner’s preliminary exam, he was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court on the following charges:

Count 1: Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, a 15-year felony

Count 2: Weapons – Firearms – Possession Under the Influence, a 93-day misdemeanor

It is alleged that on April 9, Turner was operating a white 2016 Ford Fusion at a high rate of speed when he struck a black 2006 Saturn Ion.

The driver of the Saturn, 85-year-old Eleanor Johnson of Oak Park, was pronounced dead at the scene. Turner sustained minor injuries, while his passenger and girlfriend, 23-year-
old Alexandra Clugh of Bloomfield Hills, suffered injuries that remain unknown in severity.

It is alleged that Turner was in possession of a firearm at the time of the crash. It is further alleged that Turner’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit at the time of the incident.

Turner faces arraignment in circuit court on May 26.
