On Wednesday, June 17, the library is excited to welcome Mike Familant, producer and lead investigator of the hit YouTube series “In the Shadow of the Big Red Eye” as he shares his experiences researching and tracking down the truth behind North America’s most iconic cryptid, Bigfoot. During the program, Familant will exhibit some extraordinary evidence which he and his team have collected. A Q&A will be held after the presentation, and Familant will be available for photographs and autographs.
To kick off Greater Galesburg Day weekend with Boy Scout Troop 265, a movie in the park will take place on Friday, June 19. This year’s feature, which will begin at dusk in the park behind the library, is “Strange World.” Activities will begin at 7 p.m. Attendees can bring a picnic and enjoy the park, along with face painting, games, crafts, and more while waiting for dark.
The next meeting of the Galesburg Charleston Memorial District Library’s Book Discussion Group will meet on Tuesday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. for a discussion of Ariel Lawhon’s “The Frozen River.” Copies of the book, including large print and audiobook formats, are available for checkout from the library which is located at 188 E. Michigan Ave. in Galesburg.
