New virtual support group for attorneys starting soon

The State Bar of Michigan’s Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program offers a free, confidential virtual support group for attorneys to help each other work through stress, improve their overall well-being, and connect with their peers. 

Due to increasing demand, participation will be limited to 24 participants. Meetings take place virtually via Zoom, from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and are facilitated by an LJAP clinical case manager. The next cycle begins July 7 and continues through August 26. 

The order of topics will be:

2. Anxiousness – Everything You Need to Know 

3. Guilt and Shame - Are You Making This One Simple Mistake? 

4. Triggers – You Won’t Believe What You’re Missing 

5. Healthy Boundaries – The Essential Guide 

6. Well-being Red Flags – What the Experts Won’t Tell You  

7. Dealing with Challenging Personalities – The Truth Will Shock You 

8. Sharing Joy – The Strangest Well-being Practice

Attorney to speak on ‘Insurance Issues for Human Resources Professionals’

Maddin Hauser continues its Breakfast Bites: Employment Law Series with “Insurance Issues for Human Resources Professionals” presented Tuesday, July 21, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in-person at One Towne Square, Fifth Floor, in Southfield, and online via Zoom.

Speaking at the program will be Kathleen H. Klaus, shareholder and member of the firm’s Executive Committee who joined Maddin’s Professional Liability Defense and Insurance Coverage group in 2004. She specializes in complex professional liability defense (including lawyers, accountants, and insurance agents), employment defense, class action defense, and appellate cases.  A frequent speaker at trade and professional organizations, Klaus has shared her knowledge on various topics including the application of the federal RICO statute and handling insurance claims procedures.
