‘Mastering Vocational Expert Testimony’ offered online July 10

‘How Legal Administrators Shape DEI in Law Firms’ explored in webinar June 30


The Association of Legal Administrators, Metropolitan Detroit Chapter, will present the webinar “Beyond the Bar: How Legal Administrators Shape DEI in Law Firms’ on Tuesday, June 30, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

Law firms invest heavily in DEI commitments, yet as the landscape for diversity initiatives continues to shift, the gap between policy and practice has never been more consequential.  

This session explores what effective DEI implementation actually looks like inside law firms, and equips legal administrators with the tools, frameworks, and confidence to shape their office culture and be DEI leaders their organizations.

Speaking at the webinar will be Jake McMillian, director of diversity at Dickinson Wright PLLC.  He works alongside senior firm leadership and the Diversity Committee to address issues related to diverse attorney recruitment, retention, and promotion; organizational culture and equity; diversity program development; and community engagement.  Prior to joining Dickinson Wright, McMillian served in similar roles at two multinational law firms, and also spent almost three years in higher education at UIC John Marshall Law School.
