From the July 6, 2001 Climax CrescentGrand Marshals Of Parade Have Seen Many Changes In Scotts
They remember when there was one K-12 school right in the heart of Scotts and the small town was a thriving small community with several small businesses. Or when a train would take riders from Scotts to Climax and back.
The K-12 school, and passenger train service by rail are gone and only a few businesses remain, but Gilbert and Florine Russell still enjoy Scotts because it has maintained a quiet, small town atmosphere where people remain friendly.
“That’s what I like,” said Gilbert Russell, who will join his wife Florine of 63 years as the grand marshals of the Scotts parade July 14.

From the July 2, 1926 Climax CrescentHARDWARE VISITED BY ROBBERS
Thieves visited the F. L. Willison Hardware Store, Wednesday evening.
Money was what they were apparently in search of. The safe was unlocked and a sign hanging on the handle that there was no money in it. This however did not seem to satisfy them and with a jimmy they tore off the door to the safety box where various papers were kept. The Sheriffs Office was notified and Deputy Frank C Moerdyk was detailed on the case. It was probably the same thieves who were heard and seen trying to get open the door to Denver Harrison’s Garage the same evening.
Fred’s New Sign
Climax took its initial step towards aiding Aviators, Thursday when F. M. Sanford painted the name of Climax in large white letters on the roof of his garage with an arrow pointing north. This was a request sent out from the President’s Office of the Fora Motor Co.
The Ford Motor Co., are interested in the promotion of air service and stated that if each Ford dealer would paint the name of his town and an arrow pointing north on their roof it would be a wonderful help to all flyers in keeping their bearings.
