Michigan Supreme Court focus of section’s webinar


The Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present the webinar “From Page to Podium - Part II” on Wednesday, July 22, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

The webinar will go over advocacy in the Michigan Supreme Court.  Panelists include:

Attorney to discuss ‘Remote Lawyering’ in July 30 webinar


The Law Practice Management and Legal Administrators Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present the webinar “Remote Lawyering with Attorney Michael Khoury” on Thursday, July 30, from noon to 1 p.m.

Khoury is a partner at FisherBroyles which is a 100% remote law firm.  He serves as chair of the firm’s Technology and Data Privacy Practice Group.  A business lawyer with more than 35 years of experience, Khoury focuses his practice on commercial, business and technology matters, software licensing and development agreements, data privacy and security, outsourcing, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, general business and corporate law.

Section presents ZooLAWgical event at Detroit Zoo


The Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Michigan will host ZooLAWgical on Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Detroit Zoo, 8450 W. 10 Mile Rd. in Royal Oak.

The day offers a unique blend of adventure and education as participants explore the intersection of law and wildlife. Attendees can enjoy the zoo's exhibits, while also diving deep into Law Learning Sessions on topics ranging from zoo law to companion animals and even wacky animal law, at their leisure. 

Families and children are welcome to join in on the fun and learning.  Lunch is included as part of admission to the event and features burgers, hot dogs, garden salad, potato salad, potato chips, cookies, iced water, and lemonade.
