Supreme Court term examined in ABA webinar Aug. 17

The American Bar Association will present a webinar on “The Roberts Court 2025-26: Tariffs, Birthright Citizenship and Voting Rights” Monday, August 17, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

 For the 18th year in a row, ABA’s Supreme Court panel will analyze and crystallize the leading cases of the 2025-26 Term of the Roberts Court. Tariffs, birthright citizenship, and voting rights headlined the term, but a number of other decisions also tested the limits of presidential power and implicated important protections under the Bill of Rights. This panel will explore the leading Supreme Court cases of the 2025-26 Term and their constitutional implications.

‘Strategies for Legislative Engagement’ examined online

The National Center for State Courts will present a webinar on “Strategies for Legislative Engagement” Tuesday, August 18, from 1 to 2 p.m.

State courts operate within a complex environment where legislative decisions directly shape funding, operations, and long-term priorities. 

As part of NCSC’s Navigating Leadership Webinar Series, this session is designed to provide practical strategies for court leaders to engage more effectively with policymakers and legislative staff.

Attendees will learn how to align court priorities with legislative goals, including how to clearly communicate the courts' needs, build productive relationships, and position the judicial branch as a trusted resource. Through experience-based examples and actionable guidance, this session will focus on strengthening collaboration while maintaining the integrity and independence of the courts.
