Vigneau appeared before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Teri Lynn Dennings recently and pleaded no contest to the following charges:
Second-Degree Animal Killing/Torturing, punishable by up to seven years in prison;
Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, punishable by up to four years in prison; and
Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, punishable by up to four years in prison.
Vigneau also received a Habitual Second Notice, which may serve as an aggravating factor at sentencing.
Vigneau is scheduled to be sentenced byon Dec. 2.
On May 17, Vigneau was asked to leave a Warren residence. He pulled out a knife and slashed it toward a man and his daughter.
The family dog came to protect his owners and Vigneau stabbed the dog two times in the mouth and once in the nose. The dog suffered nonfatal injuries.
