Author speaks to women in law

The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law recently presented attorney and author Susan Smith Blakely (fourth from left) as part of its speaker series. She talked about her latest book “Best Friends at the Bar: What Women Need to Know About a Career in the Law.”  Welcoming Blakely were (left to right) Greta Tackebury, Markeisha Miner, Nancy Glenn, Meghan Kennedy Riordan, Paula Tallerico, Denise Hickey, Dorothy Cooper, and Alice McCann Osburn. Blakely said she wanted to help young women lawyers and law students “plan their career and to have realistic expectations about their careers in light of the worklife struggle and the fact that it is a male dominated profession. My objective is to keep them in their practice.”
