The topic of discussion during the most recent meeting of the Macomb County Bar Foundation History Book Club was Eric Foner’s “Reconstruction: America’s Unfinished Revolution, 1863-1877.” Leading the discussion at the Barner & Noble outlet in Shelby Township was Mickey Switalski (pictured), treasurer for the city of Roseville. The book deals with the way in which Americans responded to changes that occurred in the post-Civil War period. The book club focuses on connecting modern day living with constitutional history, the courts, wars and other significant historical events through works of literature and featured speakers.
