The Taxation Section of the State Bar of Michigan recently presented “Section 280E: Planning and Considerations” on Thursday, April 19, at the Detroit offices of Honigman, Miller, Schwartz, and Cohn LLP. Speaking at the program were (left to right) Alex Leonowicz of Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC, Section Secretary Bill Lentine of Dykema Gossett PLLC, and Section Treasurer James Combs of Honigman. “Today we’ll be speaking to the State Bar of Michigan Taxation Section on the provision of the tax code that deals with the taxation of cannabis,” Combs noted. “We’ll be talking about certain aspects of structuring businesses to comply with this tax law.”
