The Macomb County Bar Association held its annual Bench Bar Conference and Annual Meeting last month at Fern Hill Country Club in Clinton Township. Speakers included former State Bar of Michigan President Edward Pappas (center), and Macomb County Circuit Court Chief Judge James Biernat Jr. (right). They are pictured with MCBA President Dawn Prokopec. Pappas delivered the opening keynote address, focusing on “Civility in the Practice of Law” while Biernat delivered closing remarks. The event also included a district court judge roundtable session as well as panel discussions on criminal law practice and new civil discovery rules and resources. The conference concluded with the association’s annual meeting and elections.
