The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law continues its Current Events in the Law Series with “Current Issues in Indigenous Law” on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 1 to 2 p.m. via Zoom.
The online program, presented by the Detroit Mercy Law Diversity Committee, will feature speakers:
• Matthew L. M. Fletcher, professor of law and director of the Indigenous Law & Policy Center, Michigan State University
• Dr. Beverly Jacobs, associate professor and associate dean for Academics, University of Windsor Faculty of Law
• Valarie Waboose, assistant professor, University of Windsor Faculty of Law, Indigenous Legal Orders Institute
Moderating the discussion will be Catherine Archibald, associate professor and chair of Detroit Mercy Law Diversity Committee.
The Current Events in the Law Series presents panels hosted via Zoom in which Detroit Mercy Law faculty members and other legal experts gather to discuss how the law relates to current events.
