Holiday Hoopla
The Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, hosted its Holiday Party on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the Westin Book Cadillac in Detroit. During the celebration, U.S. District Court Judge Avern Cohn (fourth from right) presented the Avern Cohn Award for Excellence in the Collection, Preservation, and Interpretation of Michigan Legal History to David Chardavoyne (third from left) who wrote “The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan: People, Law, and Politics,” a book published by Wayne State University Press and commissioned in part by the court’s Historical Society. Happy to congratulate Chardavoyne were (l-r) FBA President Michael Lee of Lee of Law Offices of Lee & Correll, Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Mark Boonstra, event co-chair Jeff Sadowski of Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC, U.S. District Court Chief Judge Gerald Rosen, Alan Harnisch of Strobl & Sharp PC, and event co-chair Elisa Angeli Palizzi of Miller, Canfield, Paddock, & Stone PLC.
