Washington lawyer elected chair of ABA Section of Antitrust Law

Roxann Henry, a partner in the Washington, D.C.-based Morrison & Foerster's Global Antitrust Law Practice Group, has been elected as chair of the American Bar Association's Section of Antitrust Law for the 2015-16 term. "It is my privilege and pleasure to serve as chair of the ABA Section of Antitrust Law this year," Henry said. "This section will continue in 2015-16 as the preeminent source for analysis, debate, education and development of antitrust, competition and consumer protection law. In my new role, I will continue to advance the section's key strategic objectives. Three areas of priority focus are: the international arena; balance and diversity; and the judiciary. In addition, we will focus upon communications and content delivery, our consumer protection mission and greater thought leadership." Henry has been actively involved in the Antitrust Section, having served most recently as chair-elect. She has previously served as international officer, program officer, co-chair of the spring meeting and as a council member. She is also frequently asked to speak on antitrust issues. With more than 30 years of antitrust practice, Henry has extensive experience in all aspects of antitrust, including criminal defense, treble damage litigation and merger and non-merger investigations. She has appeared before federal and state courts, the Federal Trade Commission, every regional office of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, state attorneys general and a variety of overseas authorities, including the staff of the European Commission and Canadian Competition Bureau. At the invitation of the DOJ and FTC, Henry serves as a non-governmental advisor to the International Competition Network, an organization of more than 100 competition agencies from around the world that works to address antitrust enforcement and policy issues. Her experience spans a wide range of industries, including telecommunications, life sciences, aerospace and defense, health care, construction, information and social networking technologies, mining, industrial and component products, transportation services, petroleum, specialty chemicals, financial services and food and consumer products. Henry received her J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and her A.B. from Vassar College. She also completed a leadership course from Harvard Business School in 2007.
