DETROIT (AP) — A contest to reward Detroit entrepreneurs is expanding this year with Comerica Bank committing more than $125,000 to the effort.
The Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest starts today. Participants compete for a $50,000 grand prize that includes an additional $25,000 in branding and logo design from advertising agency Team Detroit and a package of technical, accounting and legal support.
Comerica’s commitment is more than double last year. The additional funds will be allocated to enhance the contest and help past participants.
Marketing efforts are planned along with business planning sessions hosted by Hatch Detroit. The free workshops take place in Detroit’s Jefferson East, Grandmont Rosedale and Avenue of Fashion neighborhoods as well as the Detroit enclave of Hamtramck.
The contest started in 2011. Entry details are posted at hatchdetroit.com.
