State Bar wins national recognition

The State Bar of Michigan won a 2023 Luminary Award from the National Association of Bar Executives in recognition of a new online presentation of an annual demographics report.

The State Bar overhauled the report to make it more visually appealing, create an accessible online format, and provide graphic snapshots for key data at michbar.org/demographics. The report was viewed 2.5 times more in 2022 than the page that houses the previous year’s report.

The NABE Luminary Awards recognize excellence in bar association communications and marketing by honoring outstanding projects of the past year from associations throughout the country.

When awarding the Luminary Award for Graphic Design to the State Bar of Michigan, judges said:

“The website synthesizes complex data in a way that is very useful and easy to understand. ... That this was developed using no additional funds demonstrates outstanding stewardship of bar resources. Additionally, I really appreciated that the entry clearly stated the project's goals and provided specifics on how each of those goals was achieved, along with supporting data. Excellent job!"

The award was announced recently during the National Association of Bar Executives Communications Workshop.
