Climax-Scotts High School’s Cole Curtis was a state champion at the State Finals Powerlifting event last Saturday.
Competing in the varsity 114-pound weight class, Cole had a squat lift of 265 pounds, a bench press of 150 pounds and a dead lift of 315 pounds for a total weight of 730 pounds, 20 pounds more then the second place finisher. He went for the state record of 380 pounds on the dead lift but was not successful.
