Wayne State University Law School will continue its Program for International Legal Studies Speaker Series Fall 2024 on Monday, October 28.
Guest speaker Mélida Hodgson, partner at Arnold & Porter in New York and president of the American Society of International Law, will discuss “Current Issues In International Arbitration And Litigation” from 12:15 to
1:30 p.m. in the Damon J. Keith Center room 2242 at Wayne Law, 471 W. Palmer Ave. in Detroit.
Free lunch will be served on a first-come, first-served basis.There is no charge and registration is not required.

‘Paradox of Perfectionism’ examined in SBM virtual event
The State Bar of Michigan’s Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program will present a virtual wellness event on "The Paradox of Perfectionism: How to Shift Your Mindset for Greater Satisfaction and Success" Friday, October 25, beginning at 10 a.m.
The 90-minute online event, offered for free to all State Bar members, will feature keynote speaker Jordana Confino who will focus on how perfectionism, often seen as a strength, may actually hinder professional and personal growth.

Association hosts Halloween-themed Business Partner Expo Oct. 23
The Metropolitan Detroit Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators is gearing up for its 2024 Business Partner Expo. The Halloween-themed event will take place Wednesday, October 23, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Detroit Institute of Arts, 5200 Woodward Ave. in Detroit.
ALA will be awarding a prize for best decorated booth (no costumes or props).
ALA will also be collecting donations for the Play-Place Autism & Special Needs Center in Sterling Heights. It is a non-profit, volunteer run center that provides sensory haircuts, field trips, and special-needs, sensitive respite services for children. ALA is looking for art supplies such as acrylic paint, canvases, googly eyes, and any other art activities.
