SBM podcast gives updates on Rule 21


In its latest episode, the State Bar of Michigan’s On Balance Podcast revisited Rule 21 one year after its implementation to give listeners a refresher as well as important updates.

Implemented in September 2023, Rule 21 requires Michigan attorneys to designate an interim administrator to manage client needs in the event they are unable to continue practicing.

In this episode, hosts Molly Ranns and JoAnn Hathaway talk with April Alleman, SBM’s Succession Planning Program Counsel at the State Bar of Michigan, to discuss the latest updates to Rule 21 and the interim administrator program, as well as resources available through the State Bar of Michigan.
